Terms of Service

Relay is a business service for insurance carriers, MGAs, wholesalers, agencies and software companies that serve them. You must be at least 18 and authorized to bind your organization.

Relay receives insurance data from carriers and delivers it to the agency systems an agency has authorized. Relay is a conduit, not a system of record, and it isn’t an insurer, agency or producer. Relay never edits records in your agency management system; each destination decides how to apply the data it receives.

Keep your credentials confidential and use two-factor authentication where Relay requires it. You’re responsible for activity under your organization’s accounts, API keys and access tokens. Tell us promptly at security@emeraldrelay.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You keep all rights in the data you send. You give us permission to process it only to operate, secure and support Relay, as described in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum. We don’t sell it and don’t use it to market other products to agencies.

Use of Relay must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In particular, you may not send data you aren’t authorized to share or use agency credentials to scrape carrier portals.

Sandbox access is available immediately. Live access requires organization verification and acceptance of the Carrier Network Agreement or the Partner API Terms, which add to these terms.

Carriers pay the fees shown on the pricing page under the Subscription Terms. Agencies and software partners don’t pay for Relay.

We work to keep Relay available and publish its health on the status page, but we don’t promise uninterrupted service except where a signed agreement says so. We may change features; we’ll give 30 days’ notice of material changes to these terms or to the API that would break an integration.

You can stop using Relay and delete your organization at any time. We may suspend access to protect the network or its data, or for a material breach, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Except as stated in a signed agreement, Relay is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Final limits are subject to counsel review.
